About the LVO
The London Vegetable Orchestra (LVO) is the UK's only ensemble offering audiences ‘Home Grown’ entertainment.
The instruments are made up of hand-crafted vegetables, and they sound as incredible as they look!
The LVO formed in 2010, while studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and all members are professional musicians.
The LVO features a mouth-watering selection of courgettes, peppers, potatoes, swedes and butternut squash, accompanying a soaring line-up of carrot recorders, which are made by resident recorder-making superstar, Tim Cranmore.
The LVO have performed across the UK and around the world. Their work includes private events, educational and instrument-crafting workshops, advertising campaigns, online collabs, and of course live performances.
The LVO have collaborated with pop star Mika, and they appeared in an advertising project for LG, which reached 40 million hits worldwide.
They have appeared many times on national TV including This Morning, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (performing with Gary Barlow), Room 101, CBBC’s The Slammer, The Chris McCausland Show, James Martin’s Saturday Morning, and Let’s Do Lunch with Gino and Mel.
Recent radio appearances include Saturday Morning with Hannah French (BBC Radio 3), Jeremy Vine (BBC Radio 2), The Ray D'Arcy Show (RTÉ Radio 1), The Pat Kenny Show (Newstalk), Shay Kaur Grewal (BBC Radio London), and Saturday Morning with Tom Service (BBC Radio 3).
